Great Grandma’s Pumpkin Pie

If you prefer a mild filling then you will love this pie!

Dough:

2 cups of flour

¾ cup Crisco

½ tsp. salt

7 Tbsp of cold water

Mix together flour and Crisco.  You want the mixture to look like oatmeal, that way you know that all the Crisco is blended into the flour.  Then add salt and cold water. Knead together, separate into two parts then roll out with rolling pin.

Filling:

1 can of pumpkin (29 oz)

2 cups whole milk

4 eggs

1 ½ cups sugar

3 tsp. cinnamon

¼ tsp. nutmeg

¼ tsp. ginger

Thoroughly mix together the pumpkin and milk.  Add eggs one at a time. Then add sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger.  Once mixed all together, pour filling into unbaked pie shells.  Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes to 1 hour.  This recipe will make two pies.
