For those of you that are tired of eating all those Christmas cookies, here is a quick and easy dessert for your New Year’s Eve party. These Oreo balls are so simple, even the kids can help you with this one! Because they are made with chocolate, you can serve with a sparkling wine.
Ingredients needed:
1 package of regular Oreos
1 block of softened cream cheese
1 16 oz. bag of chocolate wafers for melting
Toothpicks
Instructions:
Grind package of Oreos in a food processor. Add block of softened cream cheese and mix thoroughly together. Roll mixture into small balls and place on a waxed cookie sheet, to prevent from sticking. A toothpick should now be placed in each ball prior to freezing and dipping. When finished, place in your freezer for a couple of hours so that the Oreo balls have hardened. While freezing, start to melt your chocolate in a double boiler or a small crock pot. Once the Oreo balls have hardened and the chocolate is melted, dip one at a time into your melted chocolate until fully covered, then place back on to waxed cookie sheet. When complete, place tray back into freezer until you are ready to serve.
