Suave Color Care Dry Shampoo With Keratin Infusion

Suave
We have a confession to make: we are recent converts of dry shampoo. We know they’ve been around for a while, but it’s never too late to adhere to new methods to help extend the life of our hair color. Time to take a look at Suave’s Color Care Dry Shampoo With Keratin Infusion.

The first thing to know about this product is its self-acclaimed, salon-proven ability to refresh as well as Kerastase’s Powder Bluff. That must mean something, right?

In fact, it does a great job of absorbing oil. Lauren applied it mostly around the hairline, the area that gets most oily, on her second-day hair. Suave’s Color Care Dry Shampoo left her hair soft and clean while maintaining color, with zero traces or white cast residues.

The texture and added volume on our 2nd-day hair make us feel ready to tackle the day. It helps that the scent is pleasant, though not overpowering. Opposite to other dry shampoos, this product doesn’t leave hair feeling stiff or weighed down at all.

If you are going to give it a try, the directions are easy as 1-2-3: First, shake the can before and during application, spray on lifted sections of dry hair, 8-12 inches from roots, where it is most oily. Second, massage through roots to absorb oil evenly. Finally, brush it through. You should now have a revived hair.

This a time-saving convenient trick to refresh hair between regular washes which has a little secret named Keratin. For color fans like us, it’s great to find a product to extend colored hair as well as a blowout effect. No doubt our hair appreciates the well-deserved break.

Maybelline

Maybelline Dream Cushion Fresh Face Liquid Foundation On-The-Go

Maybelline

Calling all busy girls. We have a liquid foundation ready to keep up with your pace: Maybelline’s Dream Cushion Liquid Foundation On-The-Go. This innovative product offers a full luminous coverage that lasts and lasts.

Thanks to a formula rich in color pigments, you’ll get that fresh-faced perfection regardless of your skin type.  Zero oxidation. Zero melting effect. Zero displacements. Sounds too good? There’s more.

Karen found that a small bit of this product goes a long way; it effortlessly spreads and blends evenly onto her skin. She used her IT Cosmetics Heavenly Luxe Complexion brush # 7 for the application – instead of the sponge applicator that comes with the product – dabbing and tapping the brush into the cushion and then applying the foundation quickly.

For those using the sponge applicator, press it into the cushion and tap onto your forehead, nose, cheeks, and chin. To blend the product, go for subtle downward strokes. According to Karen’s experience, you should get a medium coverage with a dewy finish.

Great for girls with dry to normal skin tones, this liquid foundation is pigmented enough that its light coverage hides imperfections and creates a smooth canvas. The product is buildable so that you can apply multiple layers without a fake or caked-on look.

Karen used color True Beige #40 but this little wonder comes in a variety of fresh shades. Have fun choosing yours. Hopefully, you will feel just as Karen did: like it’s her skin but better!

Coty

Coty Airspun Translucent Extra Coverage Loose Face Powder

Coty

Coty

Today we will be sharing a not-so-secret beauty secret. Please be patient because we cannot talk about it without getting a bit nostalgic. Made available in 1935, Coty’s Airspun Loose Face Powder brings back memories of sitting at grandma’s vanity playing around with her makeup. Something tells us that this is what makeup should be all about.

We tried the translucent powder for extra coverage. It leaves a silky feel behind and sets the foundation to a flawless matte finish. Makeup is kept in place for an entire day. Great as a finishing agent, we applied it with the help of a big fluffy powder brush. Yes, it does come with a large applicator puff. What can we say? Our brush is like a crush.

If you’re into the “baking” technique try it at least once. This powder does wonders for oily skin. It absorbs oil and prevents that shiny look that Lauren usually gets by the end of the day especially in the T-zone.  We appreciate that one container lasts a long time, making this affordable drugstore product worth every cent.  Just like grandma would approve! It’s not a coincidence that it has been around for decades…

The highly perfumed scent can be a little overbearing but soon it touches a soft spot by remembering us of grandma. Nostalgia or not, we happen to like it! Although we concede that some may not be fond of the scent and may even describe it as an old lady smell.

Let us finish by pointing out that this product comes in a beautifully decorated container that will look as delicate in a vanity drawer as in your everyday purse. If this is not the ultimate “oldie but goodie”, we will drop our brushes right now!

Wet n Wild Foundation

Wet n Wild Photofocus Foundation

Wet N Wild Foundation

Time to say goodbye to the white cast in photos we grew to hate. Wet N Wild Photofocus Foundation is here to provide impeccable camera-ready makeup anytime you shoot. Flash or no flash? It’s up to you.

If you ask us, for just under $6, this foundation performs as good (if not better) than any high-end similar. We will get full coverage, a matte finish, lightweight texture, and a radiant-looking skin. We are talking about a comfortable long-wearing foundation, that will stay in place throughout the day.

Featuring a light-adjusting complex, it delivers a buildable and almost flawless coverage. There’s some talk about the major testing this product went through until it was done. Considering the great results obtained, one can only imagine how laborious that was.

Using her IT Cosmetics Heavenly Luxe Complexion Perfection Brush #7, Karen tried it in Cream Beige, which is a medium neutral, on her normal/medium skin tone. She needed no primer before application and was impressed that the color didn’t oxidize after.

It’s okay to be somewhat skeptic to a product that promises to give your skin #nofilter perfection. Tested under several light conditions – indoors and outdoors as well as day and night – this breakthrough foundation is camera-friendly. Get your phones out girls, you’re about to take the perfect selfie!

Spring's hottest lip colors

Buxom Full-On Lip Cream in DOLLY

Springs hottest lip colors

Spring is officially here and with it came a blossom of good news for 2Orchids. If you’ve been with us for a while now, you have realized our effort to keep on track with the latest trends in the ever-evolving make-up world. Well, well, well… it looks like we nailed two of the lip products listed by Zoe Report as Spring’s hottest lip colors.

The colors that brought us in tune have the beloved ability to take us from day to night in a season that’s all about celebrating nature and good weather. (Please let us pretend that Spring allergies are not a thing.)

We are talking about Buxom Full-On Lip Cream in DOLLY, which is a sultry mauve, and Urban Decay Vice Lipstick Comfort Matte in BACKTALK, which is a mauve nude pink. Considering our long-term affair with lipstick, we are thrilled with the opportunity to report on these products.

The keywords are mauve and nude (but not that nude, more like neutral). It’s the end of an era ruled by soft pink Spring clichés. The mauve lipsticks we propose are a perfect to-go option when you are not in the mood for statement colors.

For no-shimmer lip gloss with a creamy a tingling shine, the Buxom Full-On in Dolly is more than ideal. It simply pumps and refreshes your lips without shimmering. If you ask us, its texture is perfect to layer over lipstick, but remember to keep your eyes on the target: mauve.

Urban Decay’s Vice lipstick is the creamiest matte you’ll find this Spring. The amount of pigment is insane, with a single swipe you will be blooming in color. This creamy formula is loaded with nourishing ingredients. No dragging or skipping, just gentle hugs to your lips. Did we mention we love it’s modernized version of Urban Decay’s original lipstick case?

Both lip products are filled with nourishing ingredients to leave your lips comfortable enough so you can focus on the good life. For now, it’s all about finding the balance between pink (too matchy-matchy) and nude (too blunt, when not ashy!). This Spring, go Mauve!
