We are so excited to have found this product, Clean, at The Makeup Boutique.   The Lavender Goats Milk and Rose Olive Oil brush shampoo is a great alternative to a liquid brush cleaner.  At last, a quick an easy way to clean your brushes.  While all of them clean and condition, the Goats Milk will help to whiten the brushes.  The Olive Oil is great for natural hair brushes and will not leave them greasy in any way and the Tea Tree Oil acts as a natural disinfectant.  Simply wet your brush and swoosh it in the jar in a circular motion until you no longer see any product.  Rinse well and dry flat.  Tip: When drying, let tops of brushes hang over counter so air can get to both sides.

It’s about time to start thinking of having fun in the sun!  Spring break for some of you may have already begun, or you’re anticipating your summer vacation filled with palm trees, turquoise waters, and sandy beaches.  There is nothing more relaxing than a day at the beach.  Below are some of our favorite beach bag items, to help ensure our day at the beach will be a pleasurable experience. When purchasing a new beach bag, think about one that is lined for easy cleaning.   What’s in your bag?

A large soft beach towel, or two, as we like to use one as a pillow.

Sunblock for face, lips, body, and hair.  The Beauty Protector will protect your hair against UV rays and heat.  Because saltwater can be damaging to your hair, a leave in conditioner can also be helpful.

To protect your face and eyes, it is imperative to pack a wide brimmed hat, straw hat, baseball cap, etc. and sunglasses that provide UV protection.

A cover up or t-shirt, along with sandals or flip flops.

Reading material such as a Nook, Kindle, books or magazines, and a waterproof makeup bag.

A water bottle to stay hydrated along with simple foods for snacking.  The Skinnygirl Sparklers are very refreshing and come in tropical flavors such as Pineapple Coconut and Tangerine Mango. They also taste great when used as a mixer with vodka for the perfect beach cocktail!

We love a good healthy salad and this one is a definite palette pleaser! The combination of leafy greens and vegetables, topped with the homemade creamy cilantro lime dressing, makes for the not so typical salad. This ready-to-eat dish has wonderful flavor that will have you back for another helping.

  • 5 cups chopped romaine lettuce
  • 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1/2 cup canned corn kernels, drained
  • 1/2 cup canned black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro leaves
  • 1 avocado, halved, seeded, peeled and diced
  • 1/4 cup tortilla strips, for garnish

  • 1 cup loosely packed cilantro, stems removed
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar

  • To make the cilantro lime dressing, combine cilantro, Greek yogurt, garlic, lime juice and salt in the bowl of a food processor. With the motor running, add olive oil and vinegar in a slow stream until emulsified; set aside.
  • To assemble the salad, place romaine lettuce in a large bowl; top with tomatoes, corn, black beans and cilantro. Pour the dressing on top of the salad and gently toss to combine. Stir in avocado.
  • Serve immediately, garnish with tortilla strips, if desired.
